Retail Design Consultants Expertise on Display at the Recent Fit-out of Roslin Pharmacy
An exemplar of close collaboration between the client and Retail Design Consultants has created a pharmacy fit for the future and places it in prime position to capitalise on anticipated growth.
The village of Roslin is proving to be an increasingly popular place for people to put down roots and there are plans for over 1,000 new homes in the village environs over the next few years. Keen to capitalise on the influx of new homeowners, Ron Badger of Roslin Pharmacy took the leap to install the cutting edge BD Rowa robot. Realising that modifications would need to be made to accommodate the system, Ron decided to combine the installation of the BD Rowa with a complete redesign of the pharmacy.
With a relationship which spans over ten years, Ron has worked with Retail Design Consultants on a number of projects and commented that he is always delighted by their expert guidance, their forward-thinking approach and their ability to provide enduring design solutions, fit for this generation and the next.
‘Investing in the robot and redesigning the pharmacy is key to our future growth,’ said Ron Badger. ‘It was really important to us to work with Retail Design Consultants. I knew I could put my upmost trust in them to use their knowledge of what needs to be done when you take the plunge to install a robot.
‘Before work started, Terry Cuthill of Retail Design Consultants was involved with the design plans, collaborating closely with us and BD Rowa to work out what was feasible and he created a design which would highlight the robot and make the best use of the dispensary and the available retail space. There is a viewing window for the robot and the installation of automation has also freed up much-needed space in the dispensary. The new design and layout has also meant that we have been able to increase the size of the consultation room and created a travel clinic. We compete with the big multiples and this is the only travel clinic in the area, responding directly to local demand for services. All these changes will help us to drive over the counter profit with an expected increase in retail sales.
‘The whole project was completed with minimal disruption to our daily business and was as stress-free as it could be. I know that when the time comes around again for a refit, Retail Design Consultants will be my first port of call.’
